Hi, i am preparing a Videoinstallation (one projektor only),
and we want to stream the result on a website.

It used to work pretty well, to open the MXW output as capture device in VLC Player.
I can open it now, but after some initial movements, the video freezes, and only every once in a while moves for one frame or so.

If i try to stream the result, it looks like the videostream would be there only sometimes, most of the time there are no frames. Problem seems to be with the direct show input... When i capture the video with MXW, the result is ok.

Tried it with:
MXW FXServer 4.0 on Windows 7
MXW Beta 1779 on Windows Vista
---> same results
Tried it with
MXW Beta 1779 on Windows XP pro
--> crashes immedialtely as soon as the MXW live devic is enabled

The problem is not related to the streaming but with opening the direct show device correctly

Any ideas how to fix this?

best
stefan

I think you should use the Flash media encoder to stream the results. I know about the VLC problems, but there was no way to make it either work in VLC AND FME, so we decided to support FME, it is no open source yet still free. I do not know about the XP Por crashes ( none here ) so you may check your installation.

ps. crashes may be related to too large streaming buffers. set buffers to eg. 320x240, delete all registry keys 'devicecontext'

pps. we had these problems with YOU a few years ago =)

It may have something to do with the audio (not wendy related?),
as performance of the dshow grabber becomes better / stable at approx. 1fps
if i choose Realtek stereomix instead of blackmagic audio (both audio cards installed on the machine) - no audio results in error
